Josh was wide-eyed and so feisty today! We talked to the surgeon and they are going to take him in late morning. The surgery should take about 3 hours. They are going to do the re-attachment, insert another catheter, and circumcize him all at once. They don't think he has a hernia now so they are not touching anything there. After the surgery he will be intubated again and that will be a few days before they can take that out depending on how he does. It could take 1-2 weeks before they try feeds it all depends on when he is pooping. Not sure what else to tell everyone. It's going to be a long journey again, but this time, it's all part of getting him home.
We are going up early and will be there until later afternoon, early evening.
Here are some pictures from today.

I just opened the blog and started cracking up!! Look at him! He's so funny!! Those EYES!! Great photos without his hat on!!Definitely need to put those in the scrapbook. Email me those so I can do some photoshopping to them! Love it!
Will be thinking of my little sweetheart tomorrow. He's tough and although this surgery like any surgery isn't fun, the end result is why it's worth it and brings him one step closer to....well..literally to MY doorstep! (as he's my newest neighbor on the block!) :)
Love to you Joshua!

Dianna,
My name is Rebecca; I'm Megaen's sister-in-law and also one of the nurses at Backus. I just got the blogs from Megaen and spent 1 1/2 hours reading each and every one of them. You guys have been through so much and little Joshua has come such a long way!! He is such a cute little boy, and seeing him grow has been such a thrill!!! I wish you, your husband and your older son the best. Best of luck to Joshua today with his reattachment surgery!!! I have a friend who has had 2 preemies, one at 34 weeks and one at 30 weeks; both having had NEC and the entire NICU experience you have had. If you'd like her email address, I'll check with her!!!I'm sure having another NICU mom to chat with would be comforting; you have traveled the same roads, at the same hospitals. Let me know. My prayers are with you and your family!!! The blogs are great!!
