Day 117

I am reluctant to say the expected home date, as it could change again. Let's just say that it's by father's day hopefully. They are taking care of all of the loose ends and trying to get rid of some of his meds (if possible). We will be at Yale lots still as he has to be followed up by a Gasteroenterologist (for his liver), Eye Doctor, Ears (he had his hearing test but didn't do well because of all the noise and distractions -- I have no doubts that he is hearing just fine), pulmonologist (lungs), Surgeon. Birth to 3 will come to the house and evaluate if he needs their services. Oxygen will be delivered Thursday and he got his oximeter today (to measure his %saturation and heart rate). We will not be traveling much, we will have to take the portable tank out, and want to avoid some of that... and the fact that we have been traveling so much, it will be nice to just stay home! They have started giving him more calories, so hopefully he will start gaining some weight. Love you all!

Just hang in there a little longer. Joshua has come a long way and the journey is almost over. I know you must feel a bit apprehensive, but everything will fall into place and he will do just fine. Continued prayers for all of you. The day you and Dave have been waiting for is right around the corner.

love you,
Dee & Jeff

I would say you have had your fair share of traveling and are looking forward to cozy-ing up in your own house with the little guy.

He's going to love it - the peace and quiet and sound of the birds in the morning, the owls in the trees at night, kids playing outside, the crickets on a hot muggy summer night, the blue sky, the smell of cut green grass, the sound of Arran laughing, Mommy singing lullabyes, smell of homemade cooking, even Daddys electric razor and his aftershave....all the sounds, smells, sights and comforts of home. HIS own home.

Just think of all the beautiful things you'll be able to show him right outside and inside his doorstep - in his own backyard...who says you have to travel??? :)

Love
Michele

You're almost there...the home stretch. Be patient, things will work out. Look how far Joshua has come. It will all work out for the best. You've traveled enough; once you're home, let everyone come to you!!

Love,
Rebecca

Looks like you've made it! Being home for Father's Day will be the best gift any Dad could hope for....my fingers are crossed to see that it happens. The daily routine that you have become accustomed to is all about to change....dig those heels in and learn how to settle yourself at home with Joshua. He is one lucky boy to have you and Dave as his Mommy and Daddy.

love,
Donna and Ray

You didn't mention any special monitoring equipment. Are you going to get training in infant CPR?

What's the "going home" experience going to be like?

(I'm *sure* you have it all planned!)

I am so happy for you to be bringing Joshua home finally! I have not been online for a while so it was a real treat to see Joshua so plump all of the sudden!!My experience with breast feeding was frustrating for a couple of weeks and now, at 6 weeks, my breast is Sadie's favorite thing in the world!!
